SewNaija Privacy Policy

SewNaija is a marketplace that connects clients with independent Nigerian tailors. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have.

Information we collect

• Account details: name, email address, password (stored hashed), phone number, city/location and role (client or tailor).
• Tailor studio details: studio name, bio, studio address, profile and cover photos, and the look photos, descriptions and prices you publish.
• Identity verification (tailors only): government ID type and number, an ID document photo and a selfie, used solely to verify the studio.
• Marketplace activity: orders, order notes and measurements you choose to share, chat messages, reviews, likes and in-app notifications.
• AI Studio: photos you upload for virtual try-on or body measurement, processed to return the result you request.
• Device information: a push notification token so we can send alerts about messages and orders, and the last time you were active (to show online status).

We do not collect payment card details. Payments are made directly between clients and tailors outside the app.

How we use information

• To create and operate your account, show your profile and listings, and deliver orders, chats and reviews.
• To verify tailors and keep the marketplace safe from fraud and abuse.
• To send transactional emails (verification codes, password resets) and push notifications you enable.

We do not sell your personal information and we do not use it for third-party advertising or tracking.

Who can see your information

Your public profile, listings and reviews are visible to other SewNaija users. Chat messages and orders are visible to the client and tailor involved. ID verification documents are visible only to SewNaija administrators.

Service providers

We use trusted providers to run the service: Vercel (hosting), Supabase (database), Cloudinary (image storage), Resend (email delivery), Google Gemini (AI Studio processing) and Apple Push Notification service (notifications). They process data only on our behalf.

Retention and deletion

We keep your data while your account is active. You can permanently delete your account at any time in the app under Account → Settings → Delete account. This removes your profile, listings, orders, chats, reviews, notifications and device tokens.

Your rights

You can view and edit your profile in the app, and request access to or deletion of your data by contacting us. We respond in line with the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023.

Children

SewNaija is not intended for children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their data.
